Are you a sister? Do you have a sister? Have you ever longed for a sister — or longed to lock your sister in a closet so she would leave you in peace?
Sleeping Beauty’s Daughters is, among other things, a story about sisters. That’s always a complex relationship, as you know if you answered Yes to any of the questions above. And since it’s one month until the book’s publication, I’ve decided to hold a contest dedicated to sisters. It will go like this:
♦Each day until August 27th, I’ll post a quotation about sisters.
♦To be entered in the contest, you can post your own sister quote, or simply write a comment on this post.
♦On the 27th, I’ll pick a random winner for a SIGNED HARDCOVER copy of Sleeping Beauty’s Daughters!
(One caveat: I’ve only found about 20 good quotes so far. So if I like one of yours, I get to use it!)
My daughters love to reenact that song!
I once gave my sister a book of quotes and one of them went something like this:
Sisters are just two nuts from the same family tree.
We thought it was hysterical, our mother…not so much. 🙂
I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness.
~ Emily Dickinson.
My oldest of 3 daughters is always looking for new princess books to read. Thank you for this giveaway!
Oops, that was #17…one of the best, though. Another one: “Sweet is the voice of a sister in the season of sorrow.” Benjamin Disraeli
I thought this one was kind of nice: Having a sister is like having a best friend you can’t get rid of. You know whatever you do, they’ll still be there. ~Amy Li
Erica — Congratulations, you are the winner! (Loved your quote, too.) Contact me with your address & how you want the book signed.
“You can kid the world, but not your sister.”
― Charlotte Gray
so true 😉
Well, I can’t think of any good sister quotes, but I do have 4 sisters of my own, so I know a thing or two about ’em! Sleeping Beauty’s Daughters looks like such a cute book, and I can’t wait to read it (and then let my fairy-tale-loving sisters read it!)
Thanks for the giveaway!
I have a couple of good quotes:
1.”A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit and a golden friend to the meaning of life” Isadora James
2.” A good friend knows all of your best stories, a sister has loved them with you”
3. “Sisters. They are blessed with an extra sense that whispers when one needs them” Annie Danielson
I have one older sister and am a host sister for an exchange sister. I don’t think I could live without either. Sisters are very special gifts:)
the one wonderful thing about having lots of brothers is one day they grow up and get married, giving lots a awesome new sisters!
Sister’s are rather like men, you can’t live with them and you can’t live without them. Only difference is you WANT to steal your sisters clothes.
Awesome! Another giveaway for this book. 🙂 Looking forward to reading this book.
